Crochet this super handy and lovely yarn bowl. Better than any wood or ceramic yarn bowl and even if you drop it on the floor, it will never break! It’s an unbreakable yarn bowl, neat huh? Pattern info

After each row a number is written within parentheses. This is the number of stitches you should have after each row is complete, not counting the beginning chain stitch.

Materials:

Yarn: Jette 2 skein for the smaller bowl and 3,5 for the bigger one

Hook: 8,0mm

Button: 20mm for the smaller bowl and 25mm for the bigger one

Scissor

Needle with a big eye

Washing machine

Tips & help:

In the end of the pattern, you will find a number of pictures to help guide you. These pictures apply for both the smaller and bigger yarnbowl.

The looser you crochet the harder your bowl will felt in the washing machine.


Small Yarn bowl

Start with an mr, ch 1

1. Make 6 sc in mr, pull ring tight, sl st into first st (6) ch 1

2. *2 sc in 1 st* x6, sl st into first st (12) ch 1

3. *2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc* x6, sl st into first st (18) ch 1

4. *2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in 2 sts* x6, sl st into first st (24) ch 1

5. *2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in 3 sts* x6, sl st into first st (30) ch 1

6. *2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in 4 sts* x6, sl st into first st (36) ch 1

7. *2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in 5 sts* x6, sl st into first st (42) ch 1

8. *2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in 6 sts* x6, sl st into first st (48) ch 1

9. *2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in 7 sts* x6, sl st into first st (54) ch 1

10. 1 sc in each st, sl st into first st (54) ch 1

11. 1 sc in each st, sl st into first st (54) ch 1

12. 1 sc in each st, sl st into first st (54) ch 1

13. Sk first st, 1 sc in 51 sts, sl st into next st (Do not sl st this round together) (52) ch 1, turn

14. Sk first st, 1 sc in 49 sts, sl st into next st (50) ch 1, turn

15. 1 sc in each st (50) ch 1, turn

16. 1 sc in each st (50) ch 1, turn

17. 1 sc in each st (50) ch 1, turn

18. 1 sc in each st (50) ch 1, turn

19. 1 sc in each st (50) ch 1, turn

20. 1 sc in each st (50) ch 1, turn

21. 1 sc in each st (50) ch 1, turn

22. 2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in 48 sts, 2 sc in 1 st (52) ch 12, turn

23. Sk 12 ch, 1 sc in each st (52) ch 1, turn

24. Make 1 sl st in each st

Cut and fasten yarn.

Felt the yarn bowl in the washing machine.

Once felted, shape the bowl to the desired shape, don’t forget to stretch the chain loop. Let the bowl dry and sew your button in place. 


Big yarn bowl

Start with an mr, ch 1 

1. Make 6 sc in mr, pull ring tight, sl st into first st (6) ch 1

2. *2 sc in 1 st* x6, sl st into first st (12) ch 1

3. *2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc* x6, sl st into first st (18) ch 1

4. *2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in 2 sts* x6, sl st into first st (24) ch 1

5. *2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in 3 sts* x6, sl st into first st (30) ch 1

6. *2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in 4 sts* x6, sl st into first st (36) ch 1

7. *2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in 5 sts* x6, sl st into first st (42) ch 1

8. *2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in 6 sts* x6, sl st into first st (48) ch 1

9. *2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in 7 sts* x6, sl st into first st (54) ch 1

10. *2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in 8 sts* x6, sl st into first st (60) ch 1

11. *2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in 9 sts* x6, sl st into first st (66) ch 1

12. 1 sc in each st, sl st into first st (66) ch 1

13. 1 sc in each st, sl st into first st (66) ch 1

14. 1 sc in each st, sl st into first st (66) ch 1

17. Sk first st, 1 sc in 63 sts, sl st in next st (Do not sl st this round together) (64) ch 1, turn

18. Sk first st, 1 sc in 61 sts, sl st in next st (62) ch 1, turn

19. 1 sc in each st (62) ch 1, turn

20. 1 sc in each st (62) ch 1, turn

21. 1 sc in each st (62) ch 1, turn

22. 1 sc in each st (62) ch 1, turn

23. 1 sc in each st (62) ch 1, turn

24. 1 sc in each st (62) ch 1, turn

25. 1 sc in each st (62) ch 1, turn

26. 2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in 60 sts, 2 sc in 1 st (64) ch 16, turn

27. Sk ch 16, 1 sc in each st (64) ch 1, turn 28. Make 1 sl st in each st

Cut and fasten yarn.

Felt the yarnbowl in the washing machine.

Once felted shape the bowl to the desired shape, don’t forget to stretch the chain loop. Let the bowl dry and sew your button in place.
