This is my Turtle lovey pattern. It’s so adorable and easy for a child to hold and carry. This crocheted baby comforter will help the child feel secure and beloved. And makes for some super cute baby photos! It’s made with a super soft chenille yarn and cotton yarn.

Before closing the head with the last round stuff the head firmly. Once the head is stuffed take your black embroidery yarn and make the loveys eyes.
Start by inserting your needle through the hole in the back of the head, leave a piece hanging out to use to tie with when the eyes are finished. Chose were you want your eyes to start and follow the steps. below or if you choose to you can make whatever type of eyes you prefer. The size of your eyes will depend on how many stitches you chose to work over.
Check the video or picture below for how to embroider the face if needed.
The picture down below also shows the pattern on top of the head.

Shell
Each round will be joined with a sl st, this does not count as a st and will not turn after ch 2.
Using chenille yarn and a 6,0 mm crochet hook make a magic ring and chain 2.
1. 12dc in mr (12) sl st into first st, ch 2
2. 2dc in each st (24) sl st into first st, ch 2
3. *1 dc, 2dc in the next st* x 12 (36) sl st into first st, ch 2
4. *1 dc in 2 sts, 2dc in the next st* x 12 (48) sl st into first st, ch 1
5. *1 hdc in 3 sts, 2hdc in the next st* x 12 (60) sl st into first st
Cut your yarn and secure your ends.
Measure where you want each piece to be. I place my head right on the edge where the rounds are joined by a sl st. I then sew round 2-3 sts on the shell and through the bottom of the head. I do this many times before I wrap the cotton yarn between the shell and the head to create a neck. Make sure your yarn I secure and that it is impossible for anything to come undone. Always tug on each small piece before you leave a child with a handmade toy.
